From Montreal Quebec to Massachusetts to Colorado, where I now live with my husband of many years. There is always a dog in our lives, and the house is currently ruled by a Wheaten Terrier named Bailey. It has been our good fortune to visit much of Europe, some of Australia and Asia and most recently, Africa, enjoying our beautiful world and making new friends.
My stories are character driven, and they want to tell their stories. In ‘Til Death… insecure Laura fears her husband Tony, a Boston detective, is unfaithful. He is not, until he meets Catherine, an abused wife who eventually kills her husband— but I’m giving away the plot. Laura and Janice, (a woman with her own issues), are strong characters and as vital to the story line as my protagonist Catherine.
Fran was protagonist Marie’s bestie in Friends & Lovers, but when Canadian diplomat Roger arrives on Cape Cod that disloyal bitch had other ideas - I had to tell her story!
Sarah Drummond, young and naive, gets ‘in trouble’ in London in 1966. In 2020, a dying Sarah (Drummond) Paxton reveals secrets she has kept all her life to her granddaughter Rose Marie.
And now comes Fireside Tales. Longer than short stories, shorter than novels, I find novellas more difficult to write; there’s no room for expansion. For my first venture into the genre, I have chosen four of my favorites for you. Once Upon a Midnight, Mission of Mercy, Picture-Perfect and Zanzibar are unrelated and yet they all tell of love, adventure with a little possible homicide thrown in for excitement.
All are available on Amazon in the US, Canada and Australia, in paperback and Kindle format.
Next up, They Paved the Way; The First 100 Years, is both a memoir and historical fiction. It tells the compelling story of my courageous grandmothers, one Polish, the other Italian. Escaping violence and abject poverty in their homelands, they emigrated to the new world with a dream of a better life but, like so many immigrants, had to overcome hatred, discrimination and racism. They Paved the Way will be available in 2026.
